Magda is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) through the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), practicing in Langley .

Education:

Magda is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) through the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). She holds a Master’s degree in Counselling from City University of Seattle, as well as, a Bachelor degree in Child and Youth Care Counselling with a Specialization in Child Welfare from the University of Fraser Valley. Magda views herself as a lifelong learner and continues to seek education and training to advance her skills as an RCC.

Experience:

Magda is a contracted RCC with Oakhill Counselling and Mediation. She provides counselling services for Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), Crime Victim Assistance Programs (CVAP), and private counselling in the Langley area

In addition to counselling, Magda was a Child Protection Social Worker with the Provincial Government from 2008- 2015. Before entering into Social Work, she was employed as a Youth Worker with Daughters and Sisters and at Youth Futures, both programs help and support at risk youth.

Magda is experienced working with many populations. This includes families, couples, Individuals, youth, and children. Some of the challenges she works with clients on include mental health diagnosis such as anxiety, depression, communication breakdowns, parent- teen/ child conflict, marital conflict, diabetes management, pregnancy and diabetes, trauma, workplace stress, and parenting struggles.

Practice:

Magda’s view of counselling is that clients are the experts. Her role is to offer a safe, respectful, honest, professional, ethical, and non-judgmental place to talk freely. Magda supports and encourages clients by providing helpful strategies to overcome obstacles in their lives. Magda does this by gently guiding clients in uncovering their hidden tool box, so they can live a fulfilling and peaceful life. She believes her clients have the capacity to heal themselves once they have uncovered their tool box of coping skills, insight, and wellness.
